Matan Proudly Sponsors Paddle Second Chance Paddleboard Event
Paddle Second Chance recently held its third annual Stand-Up Paddleboard (SUP) day of racing and fundraising for Operation Second Chance (OSC). OSC is a non-profit 501(c) organization committed to serving wounded combat veterans and their families’ as they recover and transition back to active duty or into civilian life.
This year’s event kicked off on Friday, June 26th, with paddler registration, packet pickup and a happy hour at The Starboard in Dewey Beach. Due to the weather, race day was postponed to Sunday, June 28th, at Holts Landing State Park near Millville, DE. The event featured a 5 and 2.5-mile main race, followed by a co-ed SUP relay and a kids SUP race. The event wrapped up with an awards ceremony and community picnic for all those in attendance.
With over $25,000 raised for our wounded military heroes and their families, this event truly embodies the term “fun with meaning”.
